Pavilion construction completed

NAPLES — Don’t let the construction fence fool you.

It is there to protect the lawn.

The construction of the Naples Town Beach pavilion is wrapped up just in time for leaf-peeping season.

Already, the pavilion is being touted by the Naples Parks and Land Use Committee as a structure for all seasons.

“The pavilion across the street is now complete,” Naples Town Manager John Hawley said.

He updated the Naples Board of Selectmen during its meeting on Monday.

“The construction fencing has remained up in an effort to restrict people from going across the newly-loamed and seeded area,” he said.

There is a donation to boot. Gravel to keep dripping water from eroding the area.

“Although the spec didn’t call for it, the contractor and his wife, Mike and Laurie Polland, donated and installed gravel along the pitched roof sides of the pavilion so a drip-line would not be carved into the ground,” Hawley said.

Mike Polland Construction & Property Services was awarded the bid to build the pavilion at the town beach.

“We will be sealing the concrete,” Hawley said

“In the future, we will run electric and water to the pavilion to be available for anyone who uses the space for organized functions,” he said.
