GLLT proposes different approach for Earth Day clean-up

LOVELL — The Greater Lovell Land Trust is respectfully following the CDC guidelines and will not host the first organized town clean-up or the Earth Day hike as originally planned.

But, GLLT welcomes your participation, albeit in a different way.

Help GLLT create a story about the communities’ collective good works completed on behalf of the Earth. During the month of April, GLLT encourages you to clean up the Earth wherever you may be, either inside or out, as a means of celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.

Declutter, pick up, make the Earth sparkle.

Please wear gloves and blaze orange as you do this.

And take photos. Send the photos to GLLT along with GIS coordinates and/or a physical description of the location as done for the photo above. GLLT will use them to create a Story Map of your good deeds on behalf of the Earth to share so that everyone can see that many hands doing a little can make a big difference (hopefully).

Contact GLLT with your photos and location: info@gllt.org.

Though GLLT properties remain open, we ask that if a parking lot is full, you make a mindful decision to move on to a less traveled place. And if you aren’t comfortable stepping outside, check out the virtual maps we’re creating and posting to our website. Each week, we add a new map with photos of key sites to be “seen” along the way. You can access these at www.gllt.org.
