George Lariviere

George E. Lariviere, 79, of Bridgton, formerly of Marshfield, Mass., died Wednesday morning, Oct. 7, 2020, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1940, in Portsmouth, N.H., a son of Robert and Irene (Morin) Lariviere.

George moved to Bridgton in 2006, while continuing a long career in marine electronics and safety equipment, which took him all over the world.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and continued to serve
in civilian life as devoted member of the Bridgton/Fryeburg Knights
of Columbus Council 11376 and Lions Clubs of Bridgton and Eliot.

George is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlene (Hett); son Edward “Mark” Lariviere and his wife, Marsha; daughter, Lynn McLeod and her husband, John J., Jr.; a brother, Larry Lariviere; a sister, Wilda Southard; two grandchildren, Charlene Thomas and Matthew Lariviere; and two great-granddaughters.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Jean and Ray.

A private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph Church in Bridgton. Interment with military honors was held at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Eliot.
