Frances R. Rolfe, 92

SOUTH PARIS — Frances Ripley Rolfe, 92, of South Paris, died Dec. 15, 2020, at Market Square Memory Care, South Paris.
She was born Nov. 17, 1928, in South Paris, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Young) Ripley.
Thanks to her great-aunt Lida Fletcher, she earned her 12-year pin for perfect attendance from South Paris Congregational Church.
She graduated from South Paris High School, Class of 1947, with honors, class historian. She was active in basketball earning her State Letter, cheerleader, class officer, DAR Pilgrim and officer of Girl’s Athletic Association. She was given the nickname, “RIP.” She was crowned Snow Queen. She was accepted to Farmington State Teacher’s College.
In 1947, she married Richard W. Corbett and had a daughter Brenda Corbett. She later married Edwin R. Rolfe Jr.
She was employed by Francine and Auerbach Shoe. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time with family, gardening, bowling and reading. She looked forward to the annual “Ripley Clan” every summer.
She was a 50-year member of the Harrison VFW Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Janice Durrell and Shirley Riddle; husbands, Richard W. Corbett and Edwin R. Rolfe, Jr.; companion, Robert Caron.
She is survived by her sister, Irene Krabisch of Essex Junction, Vt.; brother, Richard K. Ripley of South Paris; daughter, Brenda C. Hudson (Evan Varney) of Harrison; grandson, Henry A. Hudson, III (Jamie); granddaughter, Kari- Lynn Wright (Chris) of Mooresville, N.C.; great-granddaughters, Margaret Hudson of Harrison, Elizabeth Caron and Mikayla Wright of Mooresville, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Joyce Colby of South Paris and Jill Ripley of New Hampshire; and brother-in-law, Rodney Rolfe of Norway.
