Sally Emond, 74

WESTBROOK — Sally Emond (Davis-Ouellette), 74, died peacefully in her sleep on May 7, 2021, at her home in Westbrook, with her three daughters Christine Ouellette, Utah, Charmaine Ouellette, Minn., and Colette (Ouellette) Smith, Va., with her as well as her beloved Boston Terrier, Aaron.
Our mother was born in Endicott, N.Y., in July 1946. She was raised in Bridgton, on a family-owned farm which she dearly loved and would frequently reminisced about her memories "on the farm” with Pop and Mammy. In 1965, she married our father, Clifford L. Ouellette and resided as a family in Meriden, Conn., Casco and Auburn, Maine.
Mom had many interests: antiques, gardening, darts (including league competition), vintage black and white films, music, crocheting, knitting, bird watching, puzzles, reading and watching Jeopardy. She had a love for history and enjoyed furthering her knowledge by reading and watching the History Channel. She was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan and had collected various Elvis memorabilia.
Mom had an affinity for animals and owned her own grooming salon and bred Boston Terriers. Mom was very generous to the local shelters, donating money and making crocheted blankets for the shelter animals.
Those who knew our mom appreciated her very feisty spirit and intelligence about many different topics, especially answering the questions on Jeopardy. She also had an amazing work ethic and instilled the same ethics to her three daughters.
We will greatly miss the more than weekly calls we made to her to chat and check on her and Aaron. Mom will also be missed for her beautiful crocheted afghans and other items she made for family and friends.
Sally was predeceased by her former husband Clifford L. Ouellette; father Charles E. Davis Jr.; mother Barbara (Kapanka Davis) Estes; brother Charles E. Davis III; and stepfather Ralph Estes.
She is survived by her sister Susan Davis and husband George Morgan of Sutton, Mass.; brother Robert Davis of Westbrook; sister Lee Roberts and husband Don Roberts of Westbrook; grandsons Alex York and Sam Libbey; niece Michelle Evans and her husband Billy; nephews Mark Adams, Charlie Davis, Brandon Allen and Samuel Davis.
The family will be having a private graveside memorial service in Bridgton in July.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local animal shelter in our mom’s memory.
