MEDFORD, MASS. — Dorothy Helen (Wagner) Hodsdon, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late John W. Hodsdon, passed away at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester on Tuesday morning, March 15, 2022. She was 98 years old.

Born in Somerville, Mass., on March 14, 1924, she was the beloved daughter of the late James E. and Margaret (Kaulback) Wagner. Dorothy was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1942. She had been employed by Dr. Anthony Staffier, Knox & Berkey Photo, and Winchester Drug Store. 

In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed knitting Christmas stockings and prayer shawls or sewing many projects. She loved playing Bingo at the Senior Center in Medford, playing cards, traveling, and listening to Elvis songs. She was a member of the Daughters of Scotia Organization and the Caryatids Club at Union Congregational Church. Above all, she was a very devoted wife, mother, Nana and Great Nana, who loved spending her time with family and extended family whether it be during the holidays, on vacations, or at her grandchildren’s events. She loved to celebrate anything especially Christmas and birthdays. She will be dearly missed.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Carol G. Hodsdon of Medford, Mass., Nancy J. Hodsdon of Medford and her boyfriend, Steven Landay of Needham, Mass., Robin B. and her husband Robert Kimball of Bridgton, and Leslie E. and her husband Kevin Cole of Lynn, Mass.; sister-in-law Nancy Wagner of Lacanada, Calif.; grandchildren Tracy and her husband Scott Smith, and Robert Kimball Jr. of Bridgton, Jason and his wife Jennifer Kimball of Cornish, Nicholas and his wife Jessica Kimball of Bridgton, Megan and her husband William Gonzalez of Salem, Mass., Travis and his wife Nicole Kimball of Naples, Frederick and his wife Courtney Cole of Peabody, Mass., and Christopher and his wife Jessica Cole of Tewksbury, Mass.; great-grandchildren Mallory Smith, Brian, Austin, Eli and Bennett Kimball of Bridgton, Jaxon and Jane Kimball of Cornish, Calvin and Austin Renate Kimball of Naples, and Harrison and Keegan Cole of Peabody, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. 

Dorothy was also the sister of the late Gladys Mander, Beaulah McCarthy, Alda Fraser, Eva Wagner, Margaret Green, Clara Weston, Roy Wagner, James Edward Wagner Jr., Richard Wagner, and Robert Wagner; and sister-in-law of the late Grace Wagner. 

Her graveside service was presided over by Rev. John Hughes and was held in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 85 Lake Street, Peabody, Mass., on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 11 a.m.
