Roy Barnacle

Roy H. Barnacle, 86, of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022. 

He was born on Feb. 4, 1936, in London, England, a son of the late Charles H. and Kathleen (Pritchard) Barnacle. He emigrated to the United States and became a naturalized citizen. After a long career as wire room and telecommunications manager for The Christian Science Monitor in Boston, Mass., he joined Boston Coach as a limo driver. 

Roy’s interests included his gardens, British and American history, telling jokes and stories, and his many collections, which included an extensive array of models of London Transport buses, an indoor-outdoor G gauge model railway, and Beanie Babies which he loved to hand out to children on Halloween.

He is survived by his wife, Sara M. Barnacle; his children Sharon Girouard of Ellenton, Fla., Cathryn Polito of Shrewsbury, Mass., Sarah Barnacle, of Natick, Mass. and Robert P. Barnacle, of St. Louis, Mo.; and his four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
