Activities Director resigns

Peter Ceprano

NAPLES— On Monday, March 8, Naples Community Activities Director Peter Ceprano gave his notice of resignation.

The resignation was made public during the Naples Board of Selectmen meeting.

Ceprano’s last day will be March 19, according to Naples Town Manager John Hawley.

Ceprano started his job with the Town of Naples in May 2018.

Prior to the hiring, an ad-hoc committee had revamped the recreation department, renaming it the community activities and recreation department. Also, the committee drafted the duties and responsibilities of the person who would head the new department. Therefore, Ceprano was the first person hired after the changes were made.

Following the selectmen’s meeting on Monday, Hawley commented briefly on Ceprano’s reason for resigning.

“He said that he thought there was someone who was a better fit for Naples at this time,” Hawley said.

The vacancy will be advertised immediately, Hawley said.
