Connie Gedney, 89
NAPLES — Connie Gedney, 89, passed away peacefully in the company of family members on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Ledgewood Manor in Windham.
She was born on June 16, 1930 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of James and Virginia Percoco. Connie grew up in Brooklyn and married Fred Gedney on Oct. 2, 1949. Connie and Fred moved to Maine in 1964, where they owned and operated the Songo Locks Snack Bar along with a laundromat and marina on the Songo River for many years. Connie was a longtime member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary at Post 155 in Naples. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, crafts and playing bingo.
Connie was predeceased by her husband, Fred, who passed away on March 21, 1993.
She is survived by three children, Bob, Ginny and Michael; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service for family and friends on Sunday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at Crooked River Cemetery on Route 11 in Naples. After the graveside service, there will be a celebration of life at her son’s house at 63 Pond Park Road, Naples.
