Daniel L. Dolgin
Daniel L. Dolgin of Bridgton and New York, N.Y. died Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, at home in New York.
Dan is survived by his wife, Loraine Gardner, children (in-law), grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Dan’s family’s connection to Bridgton goes back to the 1920s when his maternal grandparents and their children stayed at Abbott’s on Highland Road. Abbott’s eventually became the Tarry-a-While Resort. In the 1960s, Dan’s parents, Barbara and Joseph Dolgin, bought a cottage on Moose Pond, which became a welcoming summer home for their children, grandchildren, family and friends. The cottage was sold following the death of Dan’s father. Staying on Moose Pond, Dan and Loraine built their own home, where Barbara carried on her Bridgton life until her death. Dan and Loraine grew a wonderful circle of Maine friends and became involved in worthy area organizations.
Dan loved Moose Pond and was always concerned for its health and the health of the region’s lakes. Please consider donations in honor of Dan’s life to Lakes Environmental Association at www.mainelakes.org
