Franklin L. Pechnik, 87, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side.

He was born June 5, 1936, in South Paris, the youngest of six children of Joseph and Mary (Stojan) Pechnik. Frank attended the local school system, played football in high school and worked with his family in their mica mines during his childhood. He then went on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Maine Orono College.

Frank started his own heavy equipment sales company Crasco Inc. in his late 40s.

Frank loved nature. Fly fishing was his avid passion. He traveled all over the country to find his trout and salmon holes. From Alaska to Cobb’s Camps, Frank could be found by the streams in his camper or with friends and family flying into remote destinations to fish in the wilderness.

He married Joan Kaznosky on August 6, 1960, and they spent 63 beautiful years together traveling all over the world yet coming back home to Massachusetts and Maine to enjoy their family and grandchildren.
