Glenn Woodrich

NAPLES — Glenn C. Woodrich, 95, of Naples, formerly of Weston, Conn., and Naples, Fla., passed away on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, after a brief illness and a life well lived.

At the end of WWII, he returned from war-torn Europe with the 9th Army Air Force to marry his high school sweetheart, Karis Baker, a union that would endure more than 60 years.

After graduating from Bowling Green State University with a business degree, he worked in office equipment sales and marketing at the national level. His career then took him to lower Manhattan with Xerox as a marketing team manager in the early days of reprographics. His professional journey later took him to the boardroom as executive vice president and corporate officer with Joseph Dixon Crucible Corporation in Jersey City, N.J., one of America’s oldest writing instrument manufacturers.

After “retirement,” he moved to Naples, Fla., and began a new career in real estate sales, eventually doing independent home inspections and appraisals. He was known for his objectivity, fairness, and honesty in southwest Florida among the lenders and clients he dealt with. He finally retired at age 83.

Glenn was raised as a Master Mason at Schiller Lodge #41 AF & AM in Denver on Nov. 8, 1955, and lived with the Masonic virtues and the golden rule as his guide, helping many people along the way.

He is survived by his son, Kirk Woodrich and his wife, Julie of Naples, Maine; a daughter, Carol Woodrich of Castle Rock, Colo.; three grandsons, Christopher Pelkey, his wife Lisa of Hampden, Tristan Woodrich of Manchester, N.H., and Connor Green of Denver, Colo., along with two great-grandchildren; special neighbors, Jim and Emily Driscoll of Naples, Fla.

He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Alma (Liske) Woodrich; a brother, Donald Woodrich; and his beloved wife, Karis in 2012.

A private family committal service will be held at the Fort Logan National VA Cemetery in Denver, Colo. Arrangements are in the care of the Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road in Casco where condolences and tributes may be shared with Glenn’s family at www.hallfuneralhome.net.
