James C. Qualey, 58
James C. Qualey (Jimmy), 58, of Naples and recently Albany Township, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with his family by his side.
He was born on Sept. 13, 1962, in Westbrook, the son of Joseph M. and Patricia A. (Plummer) Qualey.
Jim graduated from Lake Region High School in 1983. He also participated in the Special Olympics earning numerous medals. Jim touched many lives in his quiet manner. He enjoyed helping out the neighbors when he was living in Naples with his mom and dad. Jim enjoyed spending time camping with his par- ents, shing, playing horseshoes, cornhole and basketball, and exploring new areas while going on many rides with his family, the most recent being a road trip to Florida in February with his brother Scott and his girlfriend Jill. Jim often expressed his love for and missing his parents and his respect for re ghters.
The past few years, Jim met many new friends and extended family that he enjoyed spending time with him at the beach in Small Point. He enjoyed teasing and giving people nicknames, golf cart rides, “family” gatherings, walking the beach and collecting shells and would often paint them and give them as gifts.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and niece Shannon Grant.
Jim will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind, his twin sister, Jill Flagg of Raymond, and his brother Scott Qualey and girlfriend Jill Knight of Albany Township. Jim will also be greatly missed by his nieces, Hannah Flagg-Jenks of Bridgton and Amanda Bimpson of Winslow, a nephew, Joe Qualey Jr. of Naples, and many extended family members and friends whose hearts he has touched.
The family would like to thank the team of doctors and nurses at CMMC who treated and cared for Jim during his nal week.
A private service will be held at Crooked River Cemetery at a later date.
