SWEDEN — Janet L. Mahannah, 68, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.  

Janet was a daughter of the late Roy and Margaret Ruth (Armstrong) Mahannah of Urbana, Ill.   

Janet studied music and history and earned a BA degree at the University of Illinois, and later earned a BS degree in chemical engineering at the University of Tennessee. Janet worked as a chemical engineer, before she retired.  

She lived in Sweden for 25 years.

She is survived by her loving husband, William (Bill) Jones; her sister, Mary Ellen Schuler; and brothers, Ronald Roy and Roger Jay.
