Janet Sweet, 72

Janet “Jan” Swett, 72, of Stanford, Ky., passed peacefully on the morning of Friday, July 10, 2020, at her residence.

Born Tuesday, March 2, 1948, in Grayson, Ky., she was the daughter of Mary Faye Haney Sweeney of Grayson and the late Henderson “Tom” Sweeney.

While in Maine, Jan and Bob
were successful business owners
for 40 years, until their retirement,
when they moved to Ky. Bob and
Jan were named Citizens of the Year (twice) in Harrison. While in Maine, Jan also successfully served as co-chair of the Harrison 2000 Celebration, which 1,500 citizens enjoyed. She joined the Harrison, Lions Club (District 41L) Saturday, June 1, 2002. While in Maine, Jan served as region chairperson, Peace Poster chairperson, and Speak Out chairperson, a public speaking competition for teenagers.

In addition to her husband and mother, Jan leaves behind one daughter, Melissa “Missy” Swett of Stanford, Ky.; one granddaughter, Gracie Swett of Stanford, Ky.; one sister, Mary Jo Mosier of Olive Hill, Ky.; special cousins, Tim Prichard (Debbie) of Grayson, Ky., Tony Prichard (Linda) of Louisville, Ky., and Jackie Arnett (Edmond) of Nashville, Tenn.; brother- in laws, Charlie Swett (Rosie) of Fla., Terry Swett (Sandy) of North Bridgton; sister-in-lawís, Sally Smith (Tom) of Saco, Linda Cox of Gray, and Laurel Hoyt (Perry) of Hayes, N.C.; and special friends, Iris White of Harrison, and John David, Mary, Jesse, Reese and Logan Friend of Stanford, Ky.

Funeral Services and burial took place Tuesday, July 14, 2020, and Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home, Stanford, Ky.

John David Friend, Bro. Kerry Jones, and Terry Swett offi- ciated the service. Craig Johnson, Donnie Mosier, Tim Prichard, Tony Prichard, Mac Ferguson, Terry Swett, John David Friend, and Jeff Randle served as active pallbearers. The Stanford Lions Club and the Lions of Kentucky served as hon- orary pallbearers.
