Phyllis M. Lasselle, 100

SOUTH PARIS — It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Phyllis M. Lasselle on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at Market Square Health Care Center in South Paris, where she had been a resident for several years. She was 100 years old, and just two months shy of turning 101.

Phyllis was born in Paris on Sept. 13, 1919, to Alfred and Ethel (Twitchell) Daniels. She was a graduate of South Paris High School in 1937. She married Wesley Lasselle on July 13, 1943, at Camp Hale, Colo., where he was serving in the Army’s 10th Mountain Division.

After the war, they settled in Harrison-Bolsters Mills and began to raise their family. Sadly, Wes passed away in 1956 at the age of 37 from chronic kidney disease. Phyllis raised her family and then returned to the workforce for many years, retiring in her seventies.

In her early years, she enjoyed cooking, knitting, gardening and especially reading. She looked forward to going to the ocean, a good lobster roll, and was always eager for a shopping trip or a chance to dine out.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Wes; her sister, Mary Boynton; her brothers, Mark and Bill Daniels and their spouses.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice; her sons, John and Bill, and their families as well as extended family. We are grateful for the many years she was with us and will miss her dearly.

In keeping with Phyllis’ wishes, a private graveside gathering was held. She will be lovingly remembered.
