Thomas M. Rayner, 63
NAPLES — Thomas Michael Rayner, 63, of Naples, formerly of Billerica, Mass., died unexpectedly, Saturday evening, Jan. 30, 2021, at his home in Naples.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1958, in East Cambridge, Mass., a son of Roy A. and Marie Therese (Phelan) Rayner. He grew up and attended schools in East Cambridge and Billerica, Mass.
As a young man, Tom worked as a bartender at local establishments until injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in 1980 that prevented him from continuing.
Tom moved to Maine in 1995 and for the last several years has worked as a caregiver to his aging mom and special needs sister, who will miss him dearly.
He will be lovingly remembered for his big heart and love of animals, particularly horses.
Tom is loved by his mother, Marie Therese “Terri” of Naples; three brothers, James Rayner and his wife, Nancy of Billerica, Mass., Jack Rayner and his wife, Diane of North Andover, and Steve Rayner and his wife, Susie of Billerica, Mass.; two sisters, Kathleen Dupont and her husband, Wally of Chelmsford, Mass., and Allison Rayner of Naples; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra (Littlefield) Rayner in 2014; and his father, Roy in 2000.
